New Facebook Marketplace listings, sent to your phone.
Quick answer
Watch a search in Sift and every new listing that passes your filters goes straight to your phone, by Telegram, ntfy or email. Each alert shows the price, the distance and whether it’s below typical price, with a link to the listing. Phone alerts come with Sift Pro, which watches 5 searches, and Sift Max, which watches 25 and adds text messages. Free plans get desktop alerts.

The best listings on Facebook Marketplace go to whoever asks first. Sift watches your searches and sends every new match that’s worth a look straight to your phone, so you’re the first “Is this still available?” the seller gets.
How it works
- Watch a search. Open any Facebook Marketplace search, set your filters and press Watch in Sift.
- Pick where alerts go. In Sift’s settings, choose Telegram, ntfy or email, link it and press Send a test. It takes a minute.
- Get new listings on your phone. Each one arrives with the title, the price, the distance and whether it’s below typical price. Tap it and you’re on the listing.
What you get
- Only listings worth a look. New listings go through your Sift filters first. Dealers, $1 bait prices, words you blocked and anything too far away stay off your phone.
- The deal at a glance. Price, distance and a Below typical price tag on every alert, so you know which ones to jump on.
- No new app to learn. Telegram, ntfy or plain email. Use what’s already on your phone.
- Your phone, your rules. Quiet hours for the night, and a switch on each watched search to keep it on your computer only.
- Price drop alerts. Track a listing and Sift tells you when the price drops or it sells: 10 listings with Sift Pro, 100 with Sift Max.
- More searches. Sift Pro watches 5 searches and Sift Max watches 25, so the couch, the bike and the car can all be on watch at once.
Telegram, ntfy or email
Telegram. Open the Sift alerts chat, press Start and you’re done. Sift links the chat to your computer, and nothing else in your Telegram is shared.
ntfy. A free alerts app that needs no account. Scan the code in Sift’s settings with your phone’s camera and alerts arrive on a private channel of your own.
Email. Any address you like. Listings from one search arrive together in one email, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
Text messages. On Sift Max, alerts can come to your phone by text too.

Why not just use Facebook’s notifications?
Facebook can tell you about some new listings, but it can’t apply your filters. Dealer stock, shipped items, $1 bait prices and pickups an hour away all come through, and the good one gets lost between them. Sift only sends what you’d actually click. For how Facebook’s own options work, see Facebook Marketplace notifications.
Sift Pro is $6.99 a month, and the alerts come with everything else Sift does: filters, price history, scam flags and second opinions. See how it compares in Facebook Marketplace alert apps.
Set up alerts that find the deal
Watch the exact thing. “Herman Miller Aeron size B” beats “office chair”. One search per thing you want, with the brand or model in it.
Set your distance first. If you won’t drive past 25 km, say so in Sift, and listings past that never reach your phone.
Block the words that waste your time. Wanted, parts, for rent, financing. Sift hides them before the alert goes out.
Have your message ready. When the alert lands, open the listing and press Is this a good deal? for a second opinion with a fair offer and a message to copy. Reply with a number and a pickup time and you’re ahead of everyone who sent “Still available?”.
Watch for the thing you were about to buy new. On a store’s product page, click Sift and press Watch for one. Find it used turns it into a watched search, and the first used one near you comes to your phone.
Use it for free stuff. Free couches and curb alerts go fastest of all. Watch a free search and be the first to ask. More in free stuff alerts.
