A little help, right when you need it.

Sift does not appear

  1. Check the browser and device. Use Chrome, Edge or Brave on a computer. The Facebook and Kijiji phone apps do not run the extension.
  2. Confirm it is installed and enabled. Open the browser’s extensions menu and find Sift.
  3. Open a supported page. Go to Facebook Marketplace in that browser and open a listing search. On Kijiji, open Sift there, press Turn on Kijiji and allow access when Chrome asks.
  4. Refresh the page. This is especially useful if the page was open before installation.
  5. Check site access. If your browser is holding back extension access to the site, allow it in the extension’s settings.

On a work or school computer, the browser’s extension policy applies. If Facebook Marketplace itself is unavailable, start with Marketplace access troubleshooting.

A listing I wanted was hidden

Open the hidden-listing view and read the reason. Adjust the matching filter, then review the results again.

For word filters, check whether the rule is too broad. Excluding “case” cleans up a phone search but also hides a camera bundle that comes with a case. Requiring a word means the listing must mention it, and some sellers leave the accessory out of the description.

If several filters are active, change one at a time. The illustrated demo shows the idea without affecting your own browsing.

The distance does not look right

Check the home area and distance you chose in Sift, then compare the location shown on the listing. Some sellers list a nearby town instead of their exact area, so confirm the pickup spot with the seller.

See the distance guide for the distinction between your search area and an individual listing’s location.

I expected an alert

Confirm that the search is watched and that alerts are on. Check your browser’s and computer’s notification settings, along with any quiet hours you use. Your filters apply to alerts too, so a listing Sift hides doesn’t send one.

For alerts on your phone with Sift Pro or Sift Max, open Sift’s settings, check the channel you chose and press Send a test. The alerts guide and phone alerts show how it works.

A price history is empty or shorter than expected

Sift shows every price it has seen for a listing, so a listing you open for the first time starts with one price. Browse it again as you compare and the history fills in, with a badge when the price drops.

See price history for an illustrated example.

Turn Sift off or remove it

To pause it, use your browser’s extension controls. To remove it, open the browser’s extensions page, find Sift and choose the removal option.

If you are troubleshooting, try a refresh and a simpler filter setup first. Removing Sift also removes your settings and price history, so keep it as a last step.

Plans and billing

Start a 7-day free trial of Sift Pro or Sift Max from Sift’s settings, and cancel any time from Manage billing. Using Sift on another computer? Open Sift’s settings there and use Restore purchase. Refunds within 14 days of a charge are on the refunds page, and every plan is on pricing.
