A better plan for your next used purchase.
Quick answer
Choose the item you’re buying and your current stage. The planner connects you with its buying guide, a practical next-step tool and an editable checklist. Search for a specific item or use general buying checks. Tick off completed checks, add your own, then copy or print the plan before you go.
Start where you are
You do not need to complete a long questionnaire. Search the guide list, choose the closest item and select your stage. Use general buying checks when there is no exact match.
| Your stage | What to resolve | Useful next step |
|---|---|---|
| Finding options | What exact item and features do you need? | Build a focused search |
| Comparing listings | What is included, and what will each option really cost? | Compare listings side by side |
| Contacting the seller | What must be confirmed before you travel? | Draft a specific seller message |
| Pickup and setup | How will you inspect, collect and start using it? | Make a pickup plan |
Make the checklist yours
Each item guide covers the details to inspect. The planner gives you a shorter working list to edit for the particular listing. Replace a generic line with the exact question you still need answered. Add a measurement, missing accessory or agreed demonstration when relevant.
Changing the item or stage gives you a different plan. Your edited lists remain available if you switch back during the same visit. Copy or print a list you want to keep: reloading or leaving the page clears the edits.
Do not tick a check just because the listing says it is complete. Confirm the actual item, included parts and seller’s answers. Where specialist inspection, official transfer steps or professional installation are needed, arrange those separately.
A quick example
If you are comparing two used sofas, choose the furniture guide and Comparing listings. Confirm dimensions and condition, then use the comparison tool to include delivery or van rental. A $240 sofa with $90 delivery costs $330 before any cleaning or other work. A nearby $300 sofa is only cheaper to collect if its actual condition and included items meet your needs.
These are illustrative amounts, not price estimates. The full purchase cost calculator works with your own numbers.

Bring the plan to your search
The planner helps organize the decision. Sift’s illustrated demo shows how its filters and recorded price changes can help you find listings worth checking on Facebook Marketplace and Kijiji. See how to get started when you are ready to use Sift in Chrome on your computer.
