Swoopa alternatives for buyers: cheaper and free ways to get Marketplace alerts

Disclosure We make Sift. Vendor pages and app listings were checked on 17 October 2026. This is a documentation comparison, not a live speed or coverage test. Confirm currency, taxes and billing terms at checkout.

Quick answer

Swoopa lists Go at $47 monthly or a $28 monthly equivalent with a 12-month commitment. For fewer searches, compare Flipify’s US$5 Basic or US$10 Premium watchlists. DealScout advertises a free hourly search, while Sift offers free desktop filters, recorded asking prices and watched searches, with phone alerts on Sift Pro from $6.99 a month. Compare the device requirements and whole bill; this review does not establish which service delivers alerts fastest.

What Swoopa does well

Swoopa markets alerts for dealers and other buyers sourcing private-party listings. Its homepage documents iOS and Android apps and email delivery. Treat the vendor’s speed and coverage descriptions as claims to evaluate against your intended search, not an independently measured result.

The higher plans cover Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, OfferUp, Kijiji, Gumtree, Nextdoor and eBay. One fair caveat from Swoopa’s own FAQ: its speed claim applies to results within 100 km that match your keywords exactly.

If Swoopa already produces useful matches for you, compare that observed value with the renewal cost before switching. Include inspection, travel and resale costs when assessing a potential flip; an alert does not establish profit.

What Swoopa costs

The vendor plan page was checked on 17 October 2026. It displays dollar amounts without identifying the currency in the reviewed text; confirm the checkout currency and tax. The commitment column is a monthly equivalent, not a cancellable monthly rate.

The reviewed plan page advertises billing after seven days and labels speed Basic, Fast and Instant. Those labels do not establish measured delivery times. Confirm eligibility, renewal and cancellation terms for the checkout you use.

For a one-off purchase, add the subscription to your total buying budget. We have not established how long a fairly priced listing remains available or whether any service delivers every match first.

The following intervals are vendor statements, not guaranteed end-to-end notification times. Flipify explicitly says delivery can vary with marketplace availability and requires payment details for its web trial.

Consider Facebook’s own saved-search notifications where available before adding another subscription. Our guide to Facebook Marketplace notifications covers setting them up and fixing them. For each service in more depth, see our comparison of Facebook Marketplace alert apps.

The free option on a computer

Sift is built for someone buying for themselves who mostly wants less to scroll through. It’s a free browser extension for Facebook Marketplace that runs in Chrome, Edge and Brave on a computer. There’s no account, it never asks for your Facebook password, and setup takes about a minute.

Filters come first. Sift hides dealer listings, sold items, anything past a distance you set from home and titles with words you block. For cars, one click sets Sift up for a car search: it asks for the model years and maximum mileage you want, and hides salvage and rebuilt titles. The car filters page shows the rest.

Press Watch on a search and Sift lets you know about new matches on your computer and, with Sift Pro, on your phone by Telegram, ntfy or email. On any listing, “Is this a good deal?” gives an AI second opinion with a fair offer, and car ads get a VIN check. Sift works on Kijiji too once you switch on Kijiji in Sift; the Kijiji alerts guide has the steps.

A watched car search in Sift: the new private-sale listing lands at the top of the results, marked NEW.

The choice depends on the device and delivery you need, and how many searches you watch. For a car search, use the used-car checklist before viewing a candidate.

Before you switch

  1. Write down your searches. Note each keyword, price range and radius. Check whether the tools support transferring those settings; otherwise keep your own notes.
  2. Try the new tool in your own city. Run its trial on a search you know well and compare what it sends with what you already see.
  3. Check how it reaches Facebook. A service that asks for your Facebook login acts as you; our page on Marketplace bots explains the risk. For browser tools, our extensions comparison shows what each does with your data.
  4. Cancel Swoopa where you paid. On an iPhone, go to Settings, your name, then Subscriptions. On Android, open Google Play, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. If you paid on Swoopa’s website, cancel with Swoopa directly. Check the exact trial deadline and obtain confirmation that cancellation succeeded.

Questions people ask

Is there a free alternative to Swoopa?

DealScout’s app listing advertises one free hourly search. Facebook’s saved-search notifications are another option where available. Sift is free on a computer and combines filters with watched searches, and Sift Pro sends new matches to your phone by Telegram, ntfy or email from $6.99 a month. These products have different delivery requirements; we have not measured their relative speed.

What is cheaper than Swoopa?

Flipify lists US$5 monthly for a Basic watchlist and US$10 for Premium. CarSnipe lists Basic at $9.99 and Pro at $24.99 monthly. Sift Pro is $6.99 a month or $49 a year for five watched searches with phone alerts. Count the searches you need and confirm each checkout currency, tax and billing commitment before comparing the total with Swoopa.

Is Swoopa worth it for a regular buyer?

It depends on the search, total subscription cost and whether you can act on relevant alerts. Try the least expensive option that meets your needs and evaluate a representative search. Neither a paid plan nor an early alert guarantees a bargain or recovered subscription fees.

Is Flipify better than Swoopa?

Flipify charges per watchlist, while Swoopa bundles searches into plans. Four US$10 Premium watchlists cost US$40 monthly before tax, but price alone does not establish better coverage or delivery. Swoopa’s homepage qualifies its speed claim by location and exact keyword matching; test your own search during the trial.

Does Swoopa work in Canada?

Swoopa’s website lists Kijiji and describes international availability. Its plan page lists Go as Facebook Marketplace only and higher plans as covering its supported marketplaces. Confirm the exact site, region and plan before subscribing. Sift works on Facebook Marketplace and on Kijiji too, once you switch on Kijiji in Sift.

How do I cancel Swoopa?

Cancel where you subscribed. On an iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. On Android, open Google Play, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions and Subscriptions. If you paid on Swoopa’s website, cancel with Swoopa directly. For a trial, check the exact renewal deadline and cancellation terms shown when you subscribe.
